Gogglebox-The Prada Cup Final
Gogglebox is a British television reality show that premiered on Channel 4 on 7 March 2013. The programme features a number of families and groups of friends from different places around the United Kingdom who react to television programmes from their own homes. Gogglebox was narrated from its launch on 7 March 2013 until 8 April 2016 by Caroline Aherne. She was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2014, which led to her death on 2 July 2016. Craig Cash regularly filled in for Aherne when she was unavailable and took over the role as narrator permanently on 15 April 2016. The show won a BAFTA award in 2014[8] and a National Television Award in 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018.
A version of the show featuring children, titled Gogglesprogs, launched as a Christmas special on Christmas Day 2015, and was followed by a full-length series which began airing on 17 June 2016.[9] In 2017, a spin-off show titled Vlogglebox aired on E4, which featured reactions from 16 to 24-year-olds as they watch online content on their smartphones, laptops or tablets.[10] In 2019, it was announced that a celebrity version had been ordered; Celebrity Gogglebox began airing in 2019, and it was later renewed for a second series which aired in 2020. In December 2020, it was confirmed that Series 17 would begin airing in February 2021,[11] and on 11 February, the air date was confirmed to be 26 February 2021.[12]
